Easter was so fun this year.

I love having 2 boys!

I made Jude's Easter bucket this year and he loved dumping everything out

Teague had so much fun!! He couldn't wait to find his bucket, to go on his ''hunt''.

it was really quite adorable

not to mention he literally ate every peep, jelly bean, and chocolate egg he could get his hands on

Birthdays really are a big deal in our house.

The house was decorated and the day was packed full of as much fun as we could squeeze out of it

Teague got to bring cupcakes to school...and he felt like he was on top of the world.

He owned his world that day!

We took finn with us to kangaroo zoo (the ONLY thing he cared about doing that day).

I made a WICKED sweet cake.

Im talking...6 layered rainbow cake...from scratch (does that make up for all else i lack?)

dinner was at panda express per request from teague...gross. with grma jackie and papa bill.

teague decided that night he actually didn't love panda express.

People say time goes by faster the older you get..

but really...im not THAT old!

and this last year was a blurrrr

I feel like I just brought this adorable love monkey home

(not to mention...I look like i just brought him home too....that never helps)

So I am still trying to wrap my head around the fact that Jude pants is 1!!

We had a great day spent with our little family

We kept to our tradition and decorated the house for the birthday boy for when he woke up

Teague helped decorate...it was exciting and strange at the same time to decorate for a birthday other than Teague's...it has been just him for quite a while.

When Jude woke up the next morning...he KNEW it was his special day!

he smiled all day showing of his pearly whites

We took him to the park so he could get his fill of wood chips, rocks, and who knows what else

I am CONSTANTLY amazed at what amazing and generous friends we have.

So many thoughtful people dropped goodies and toys off for the little gorilla.

AND....the little fluff head got his FIRST HAIRCUT ON HIS FIRST BIRTHDAY!

Teague decorated his dirt cake....and turned it into a bug paradise.

To say the least each boy LOVED the cake

oh christmas was amazing

the best day ever

we got 2 days straight of nothing but family time

we played all day long!

at 9:30 a.m. this is what teague looked like

...pretty sure he was the only kid still sleeping

and then he finally woke up

ever since dirt and i were dating he has always given me ''queen cards''

when we got married, there were at least 100 queen cards in our hotel room

he found them in our wedding box and framed them for me

i have to separate posts between christmas eve and day...because i have so many pictures

Christmas this year was a bit more quiet and low key since we weren't traveling

It might have been my favorite yet,

I had 2 little boys to share it with

oh i am so in love with them

i couldn't soak it all in quick enough

so i've told several people this story because i thought it was so hilarious.

we had a little bit of a ''milk following''

this is the story...and i have to post it so i don't forget

a week ago our family went to temple square to see the lights

and when we got home we made mexican hot chocolate

...i REMEMBER opening a new gallon of milk

i used maybe a cup or two

we drank hot chocolate and then went to bed

we woke up the next morning and wanted cereal...but the milk was gone

i called dirt to see what HE did with the milk

he said he couldn't find it either when he woke up

so...this milk...that is now missing was now the 3rd thing i lost that week

i lost my itouch, teague's down coat, and now the freakin milk

so i was determined to find the milk

i had NO memory of what i did with it after i made the hot chocolate

i looked in the freezer, pantry, oven, dishwasher, basement, teague's room, trash can, dumpster, porch...no milk

i mean really?

i could not find it to save my life

i am losing my mind

a week goes by and dirt is putting away christmas dishes and what does he find...

but a gallon of milk on the verge of exploding in the lazy susan (i swear i looked there)

i went to dump it outside laughing hysterically but it was solid..

GROSS

im still laughing

but here is the best part

the day after christmas i had a photo shoot and while i was gone teague wanted to know where his scriptures from christmas went

dirt told him i put them in his room

teague went upstairs to retrieve them, so dirt asked if he wanted to read them,

he said

"no, i just don't want to lose my mind like mom''

"she loses stuff everyday and so I don't want to lose my stuff like she does"

maybe writing it down doesn't do it justice, but this is classic

can't stop laughing

I love watching Teague when he doesn't think anyone is looking

Yesterday we went to his school christmas program and I could hardly contain myself

I wanted to run up and squeeze him after every song

I love this time of year.

"THE TREE! "

Getting our tree is one of Dirt and I's favorite things to do all year

it makes us giddy

and we found our PERFECT tree this year

it's the best one yet

it has all it needs

Teague got to put the star on and Jude...well, he got to sleep

The day we get our tree...should be a holiday

we look and look until we find the PERFECT TREE

we come home and get out our huge box of ornaments

drink hot chocolate and watch old christmas movies

and this year it was even that much better because Teague is old enough to get into it and care

he LOVED pulling out our ornaments from when Dirt and I were kids

he wanted to know how old we were when we got each of our ornaments.

It was such a fun night.

What an amazing day!!

We blessed Jude at Bill and Jackie's house with our friends and family!

I love and cherish events like this because it is such a sweet reminder of what is really important. It is the simple things that fill me up. My boys (all 3 of them) are everything to me. What a blessing they are. Everyday I get to wake up and be a Mom to this angel baby.

Dirt gave a heart filled Father's blessing to Jude.

a month of Halloween

October.....my favorite month. A great month to be born in =). We start the month off with October night...we watch Jack (Nightmare before Christmas), drink hot chocolate, and decorate the house for Halloween. The fun has only begun. Our month was filled with spook dinners, pumpkin carving, Horman Halloween party, preschool party....and oh yes, I did turn 28 at some point during the month (no pictures this year). Emily and I made our Mom's halloween donuts..yummy.I love the traditions that my little family has, i love that i have the cutest boy in the world who loves this time of year as much as Dirt and I do.

I am quite the lucky lady.

The Happiest Place on Earth

Disneyland....seriously is the happiest place on earth. I had been warned of this prior to going, but i was not to be disappointed. I have never been so this was a first for both Teague and I. Dirt's amazing parents took us and Chandy's family. (Teague scored being able to go with all the Bronson boys). I walked in and it was like walking into Willy Wonka's Candy shop....i just couldn't take it all in. AND as if IF it couldn't get ANY BETTER....we were there for all the HALLOWEEN festivities... and not as if anyone doesn't know, but our family is only slightly obsessed with this great holiday. (OBSESSED). i love October....love it. I love fall, I love halloween, I love love it all...and having a birthday in october only makes it better.

No one should go through life without going to Disneyland during October. Teague's favorite movie, Jack (Nightmare Before Christmas), is everywhere. We were in heaven. We rode the haunted mansion twice and Teague went crazy when he saw Jack and Boogie Boogie. If i could've squeezed my trip I would've, if i could've eaten my trip on a sandwich i would've.

IT WAS AMAZING. seriously, amazing. Teague could've cared less about the characters (um, actually they scared him), but he was very much into the big roller coaster rides. Splash Mountain....he loved...Matterhorn he rode 5 times. He and Dirt were the best of friends...2 buddies excited for the rides. and of course he loved shooting Zurg...in the face....but it's ok cuz it was pretend (TEague's infamous Disneyland story).

.....now here are a million pictures that just must be posted so that I can remember. (im afraid i won't remember things with 2 kids)...hmmm

Time is something our family always seems to be chasing, and often times we come up short. Dirt is the hardest working person I know and works around the clock so that he can provide for us. As a result he gets home really late and goes to work really early.

So, Sometimes we just dont get enough of each other

When we are lucky enough to have some family time we try to soak up every minute!! This Labor Day weekend was a dream come true!! We were able to spend every day together!

Friday, Mr. Dirt took me out on a lovely date. i even tried dolling myself up a bit (but since nothing can be buttoned anymore, finding a cute outfit was a lost cause). HE took me to one of my FAVORITE places to eat, Thai Siam.

The wonderful date was followed by a weekend of family fishing, sleeping in, games, swimming, BBQs, Ikea (per TEague's request), laughing, a few sick moments, and lots and lots of time!!

Teague and I took our annual summer trip to Denver,

but this year we were able to drive out with Emily and Finn

(there is a lot to post about our trip, so Im separating them)

There is nothing as sweet as returning home to familiar

sounds, smells, hugs,

and of course DAd's mexican hot chocolate.

As hard as i try, my hot chocolate never compares

(we gave up and started buying instant mexican cocoa).

As part of the agenda for this last trip Papa Brown took us all to Tiny Town

....it's a must for kids in Colorado

It's at least 100 years old.

it was built by a wealthy business man for his daughter...

he wanted to build a place for her to be able to play

I am one lucky gal to be surrounded by such amazing men!!

My sweet sweet DAd!!!! He is such an eloquent writer, I wish I could speak like him...so I could say the right things so he knows just how amazing i think he is. Family first....my DAd always always made time for his girls...and of course seth. He taught me the value of life...the value of a dollar, of an education, of the gospel, and of always choosing family first.

I am strong because of him.

Not for me it wasn't. It is official Mr. Quack has found his family. After a neighborhood goodbye, we drove Quack up to a pond 3o minutes away. Yes, Dirt thought long and hard about where this little smelly creature would be most comfortable. Pictures were taken and Dirt's heartstrings were pulled. I had been prepping Teague since the day Dirt gave it to him that Quack misses his Mommy and soon we would have to bring him back to her....so Teague was fine. When we dropped Quack off you just might have thought Dirt was leaving his first born (um, that would be Teague). The duck followed our car as we were leaving (ok, that part was so pathetic it tugged on me just a bit). DONT WORRY, dirt drove back to the pond (im pretty sure more than once) to check on his little friend. He was thrilled to report that Quack has made friends and is happy and is now a brilliant white....blah blah. that's the end of the smelly Duck who would hide under my car and poop. Goodbye Quack!

That blogging has felt like a big pile of dishes i haven't wanted to get around to. Actually, most everything has felt like that big mountain I haven't wanted to climb. I've been quite content sitting at the bottom of that big hill playing with Teague. After quitting my trillion jobs, I have promised myself to slooowwww down...... therefore, me, myself, and I have been doing very little.

(um, actually, thats just not true).

I have some need to go a million miles an hour. So, I painted for 4 days straight. Really...so much for my attempt at slowing it down.

I was reminded of why i even started a blog when sarah blrbed her blog. So.....seeing that that is my intention I have felt overwhelmed with the ''catching'' up that I need to do since i've lived on my own personal planet for the last several months.

If only I could write a song. It seems only appropriate for all the pictures to follow....

This year's easter break was soooo needed and so much fun. We did so many crafts, there is something rejuvenating about sitting down undisturbed (for the most part) and creating all night long. I feel good when I've been creative (even if it's copying someone else's ideas....=). I love doing projects especially with Teague, I feel like a good Mom when we can create something together. So this year we all decided to bring a craft to share. Some of the ones we did were easter buckets, thank you cards, and hair pins. all were so cute they were yummy! (im lame and dont have pics of them other than the bucket.

Ang did a great job making cake pops. YUMMY! We also had the kiddos make easter rice crispy treat eggs...dipped in chocolate and sprinkles. Im pretty sure i ate a dozen eggs!!! all in bites and pieces though. WE lucked out and got a beautiful day on Easter Sunday. After we walked around the temple (jesus's house if you're talking to TEague) we played at the park. This was my highlight of my trip. Everyone was there, everyone happy...it was a good day!

We are so blessed. This trip was an chance to relax and take time to appreciate all around you. Everyone came home smiling! Other than the DUCK, which is for sale if you're dying to have a QUACK at your house, the kite we got for TEague was a hit. WE love it! we even tried flying it again the same night we came home, but the wind was no where to be found.

My precious Teague. You turned 3 today. There isn't a sweeter soul on this earth. My life is so full because of you. ...we devoured homemade monster cake. You and Brock were spoiled with love. Every gift worthy of a ''oh my Goodness'', ''this is pretty awesome'',and a Teague....what did you get, ''i dont know, i think i will love it''... heart of an angel he is. Monsters vs Aliens was watched while popcorn and a monster drink were digested. Lucky Charms was the birthday cereal choice this year. And daddy dirt decorated the house for your special birthday breakfast. thanks to ash, we had a birthday in a box... go girl...greatest gift idea ever. Dirt made Teague a ''super teague'' to go along with his super cape. Which was my very first sewing project (thanks ang). the bad guy side with jack on it wins his favor

As I was driving the other day, Teague was playing his ''guess what'' game and had noticed the private school across the street. The kids were playing outside, it was recess time. My eyes were first drawn to the bright colored slides and the swarm of kids occupying every inch of this small school yard. Kids were laughing. Some were balancing on a wood beam. Some were kicking a ball back and forth. Others were huddled in their private circles. The school yard was guarded by a tall black fence. Fences have never seemed so confining as they did at this moment.

Then...I noticed a girl. I couldnt see her face. I didnt know her name. But my heart broke for her. So much, that this little girl has stayed in my mind for the last 3 days. In the midst of all these kids playing, all the laughing and adventures that were being created, there stood this girl all alone in the very farthest corner of the playground. Oh my, I wanted to go hold her hand, squeeze her and be her friend. I wanted to tell her that school doesnt matter. That she was beautiful and that one day all of this won't seem so bad.

Does Teague really have to go to school one day.? I have thought so much about this, not sure why. I hope Teague will be that boy that will be her friend.

I remember those days....of standing by a fence. As soon as I saw this girl, i wanted to save her.

Thanks to my mom birthdays are a BIG Deal. I love birthdays. Love them!!! Teague thought his big day was last week when we made Chandy cupcakes. He came down from his nap and saw the pretty pink treats and started screaming that it was his birthday. So we sat there, he and I, and sang him happy birthday. Why cant a kid think he has 7 birthdays a year. I would celebrate it everyday if I could. HE is so excited about his Monster cake, I hope this idea in my head actually works on cake (we shall see). SO last night Dirt, Teague, and I made him his birthday countdown. yes, he loves loves it. Maybe he will love birthdays as much as I do someday. Maybe he will make some special girl wonder what his mom did to make him always remember such special occasions. Maybe he will remember small things make others really ''super super'' happy (to quote him).

and you're homebound for a week. Projects get started, and in between a handful of motrin, a few squeezes of Afrin, and a chaser of Musinex, the projects get completed...

crust recipe

Oops....here is the recipe for the home-made, wheat pizza crust.

(it's super easy, even if you've never cooked w/ yeast before)

2 1/2 c. whole wheat flour

1 c. unbleached, all purpose flour

2 packages of dry active yeast

1 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. sugar

1 1/2 c. luke warm tap water

1/2 tsp. olive oil

sprinkling of corn meal

Place flour, yeast, salt and sugar in a mixer fitted w/ a dough hook. While mixer is running, gradually add water and knead on low speed until dough is firm and smooth about 10 minutes.

Turn off machine

Pour oil down inside bowl. Turn on low once more for 15 seconds to coat inside of bowl and all surfaces of dough w/ the oil. Cover bowl w/ plastic wrap. Let rise in a warm spot until doubled in bulk, about 2 hours.

by hand, form dough loosely into a ball, stretch into a circle. Using a floured rolling pin, roll dough into a large circle until very thin.

Sprinkle pizza stone or whatever you have w/ cornmeal. Transfer dough to stone or cookie sheet w/ no lip and add toppings

cook at highest setting 500 or 550. cook for about 10 minutes

so easy...enjoy guys

we stuffed ourselves all night long eating these delights

Buttercream frosting

1/2 cup shortening

1/2 butter

1 tsp. vanilla

4 cups. powdered sugar

2 tbs milk

1. cream shortening, butter and vanilla (i use just butter, make sure it's softened)

2. add sugar one cup at a time, make sure it's blended after each addition

3. add milk

i could've eaten the whole pizza

homemade whole wheat crust

pizza toppings:

caramelized onions (1 onion chopped into fine circles, cook in 2 tsp olive oil)

1/4. cup chopped sun dried tomatoes (the ones that you buy in oil)

mix w/ 1/2. pizza sauce

2/3 cup crumbled goat cheese

bake at 550 for about 10 min

sprinkle fresh basil after cooking

(i love fresh herbs, the smell sooo good)

im waiting for the hidden camera to pop out. we have awoken to insanity day after day it seems. some...funny, some....sad...., some are just...

With a chance for a breath of fresh spring air we are happy happy.

throughout my life i've had major milestones...things i spend my energy on. Getting into college, surviving bad jobs and graduating college. meeting dirt...he took a lot of my time and energy....time well spent, don' you think? Then my focus was on a temporary career....one which I loved. My thoughts and conversations consisted of the latest research, best ways to implement said research, behavior plans, ...and of course my darling dirt. Teaguey boy then came along. Hello...i was doomed. i was in love. A mother's love. And my time and energy was spent on nursing and loving my new baby, my teaguey boy....time well spent.

well, time has since past. jobs have changed, houses have changed, my hair has changed, teague is creeping up on 3 (the nerve?). and now it seems that my thoughts and conversations are...hey, teague had a big poop today =) haha. he picked a new toy from the poop box. ''hey, dirt...teague peed on my back today''. ....time is spent on loving teague. showing him how to be ''super super nice''. time is spent on showing him his letters and playing with his golf balls and snakes.....time well spent don't you think?

it's hard not to be consumed in the sadness that sometimes life leaves at our door. but tonight...im reminded that my time is well spent. im happy....at the day's end.

my mom sent me a cute note today, that made me happy. dirt made me a cold drink and we're watching a friday night movie, that makes me happy. jackie bought me blue bird paper, that made me happy too. she also bought me ''happy'' plates, because ''we've had a @!#*$ month''. they really are happy plates...when i look at them they make me smile

....hmmm. i guess there is no point to my rambling. perhaps it was to make you smile?

I love my Teaguey Boy!!

We bought memory a while ago...brought it out and Teauge showed no interest. Then this week we paired memory up with root beer and popcorn...and it has now turned into a daily request.

He wakes up from a nap and sweetly asks for ''cocorn, roo beer, and menry''.

So, now he's got his snacks all set up and we line up the memory cards and we're ready to play. this is usually how the game goes. I take my turn...and he eats his cocorn. i'll take my turn again...he'll drink his root beer. then i'll suggest he takes a turn. but before he can proceed the popcorn gets dunked into the root beer several times....meanwhile i take a turn. =)

his thoughtfulness takes a turn when he realizes that I have neither root beer or popcorn. he insists that i get a bowl of his goodness...meanwhile he shares with me....sweetness

Is it just our strange genetic line...or did everyone dunk their popcorn into their root beer. I remember doing that when I was little.

i made these delightful treats over the weekend

3/4 c. sugar

2 1/2 c. unsweetened shredded coconut

2 large egg whites

1 tsp. pure vanilla extract

pinch of salt

1. preheat oven to 325. line baking sheet w/ parchment paper

2. in a large bowl, combine sugar, coconut, egg whites, vanilla, and salt. Using your hands, mix well, completely combining ingredients

3. Dampen hands w/ cold water. use 1 1/2 tbs to form mounds (i used my cookie scoop). place on prepared baking sheet. spacing 1 in. apart

**you can also use sweetened coconut, but reduce sugar from 3/4 c. to 1 TBS.

***c. chunk macaroons. follow recipe above adding 1/2 c. coarsely chopped semisweet chocolate.
